4. History and Formation –
It was May of the year 2002. The day was Hartal. Suharto,Ranjan,Ishtiaque and Ahsan were sitting together and created the Alternative Rock band ‘ARBOVIRUS’. Arbovirus means that a virus will transform a person into a vampire if he/she is bit by any vampire. They found the name in a ‘Blade’ comic.
In 31st January,2003, they performed their first concert in ‘Shishu Academy’, with a guest bassist named Jishan who then joined the band as a permanent basist.
After doing some more couples of shows, Ishtiaque left the band because his voice was not suitable for the type of songs they used to cover. Then Ahsan also left the band as he went to abroad for higher studies.
In the mid of 2003, Shuvo and Tanim joined the band and recorded some demos, one of which was selected in the mixed album ‘Aguntuk-2’ in 2003, which became very popular.
After that, they got the proposal from G-Series to record their album. Their first album "64m 53s" got a huge response from their fan base and placed them amongst the top and respectable metal and rock group.
