Sohini’s music has been described as “Bangla Soul”, mainly owing to the range and power of her vocals. Her repertoire includes folk, patriotic, modern and traditional Bengali songs with a specialisation in the songs of Nazrul. Some of her collaborations on acoustic and electronic Asian music with worldwide influences have been with Soumik Datta and with Sajib Azad of the band AfterArt. She has performed in the US, the UK and Bangladesh as a soloist and as a member of Amra Kojon and Drishtipat Creative.
